Our Chambourcin grapes are used in several wines.  Our red wine blend named Eidolon is our higher end, longer aged wine.  Peaceful Warrior is a younger blend while several tons of fruit are also reserved for our Vintage Port. 

Peaceful Warrior is the name of a pose in Yoga practice and provides a strong stretch of the side body in addition to a range of physical, mental and spiritual benefits.

On another more metaphorical level, we chose this particular yoga-related name for its oxymoronic character - taken passively as a “warrior at peace” or more actively, as a “warrior for peace” or a “warrior of peace” which is the metaphor we like better.

This name stands in stark juxtaposition to our old wine brands specifically Battleship Red and White named for the Battleship New Jersey.  We have evolved from celebrating the tools of war, to striving for peace and using peace itself as the primary weapon in that struggle.  Peace in our world but also peace within ourselves.

Peaceful Warrior along with “Good Karma” and “Give Peach a Chance,” is what we here at Auburn Road, at our best, are all about.

You will also notice that the wine does not have a vintage date on the label.  Instead the label states that this is the First Chakra. A chakra is an energy centre within the body. The First Chakra is the root of your being and establishes deep connections with your physical body, the environment and the Earth.  This first Chakra is representative of our approach to everything we do - a balance of self with the world.
