The base wine in our Sangria Blanca is created from a blend of peaches and the hybrid grape Cayuga White.
We cold ferment the peach juice and Cayuga White juice separately in SS tanks and when fermentation is complete, blend them together. The Cayuga White wine is added to increase the acidity of the wine and imitate biting into a farm fresh juicy peach. Once the base wine is created natural fruit concentrates of mango and pineapple are blended into the wine.
The wine should be served slightly chilled to 60 degrees. Enjoy it on its own or with sparkling water or flavored soda such as orange San Pellegrino.
It has 5.5% residual sugar and about 12% alcohol.
The name Sangria Blanca connects us to the origins of Sangria. Sangria is a Spanish cocktail that mixes wine, fruit, and sugar for a sweet drink. The origin of this cocktail dates back to 200 B.C. when the Romans conquered Spain and planted grape vines in Spain.
Blanca translates to white and indicates the base wine of this Sangria.
